Welcome, Commanders!

The Winged Hussars cordially welcomes all Commanders interested in sporting competitions in Elite Dangerous.
After many months of preparation, trials, and testing, we have prepared a variety of competitions for you, based on existing sports disciplines, as well as one created specifically for PVP enthusiasts. Despite the challenging nature of the game, we've managed to design several thrilling competitions that will undoubtedly provide you with excellent entertainment, while also enabling you to compete in a sportsmanlike spirit.
For most participants, the satisfaction will come from the joy of taking part and engaging in friendly competition. Nevertheless, for the best of the best we have prepared appealing rewards, in-game credits and raw materials for personal equipment modification. It's essential to note that the entire fun unfolds in the On-Foot mode, meaning that these resources will exclusively come in handy for tweaking suits and weapons. You'll find comprehensive details in the Nano Olympics description.
We would like everyone interested to be able to take part in these events. Unfortunately, our resources are limited, so we decided on the option in which where squadrons invited by The Winged Hussars will field their representatives.
If each of the invited Squadrons accepts our invitation, everyone will have the opportunity to designate a maximum of two participants for each competition. In the event that a Squadron has more interested individuals for the Nano Olympics, internal eliminations will be necessary within that Squadron to determine their representatives. The choice of elimination methods will be left to the discretion of each individual Squadron.
If there are fewer registrations, then the limit of two participants will be increased. Details can be found in the further part of the Nano Olympics description.

We invite you to participate in exciting events. Details regarding registrations and further information can be found in the Nano Olympics description below. See you on the field of sports competition!
Wishing you all the best, the organizers of the 3309 Nano Olympics:

Nano Olimpic Games by The Winged Hussars
Edition 3309

Welcome, Olympians!

Competitions

Before you are five Olympic competitions adapted for Elite Dangerous. Four of them are modified sports events adjusted to the game's conditions, and one has been created specifically for PvP enthusiasts.
The competitions are intentionally designed to be simple and understandable. In the case of the most rules-restrictive competition, the Space Biathlon, running through a settlement twice is enough to grasp its concept. This can be done in an active settlement, of course without shooting.
None of the competitions require special preparations or collaboration with Engineers. All competitions only require Level G1 equipment, widely available at Pioneer Supplies on any station. Before each tournament, you will also have the opportunity to purchase this equipment on the carrier [TWH-DN] Olimp (JNQ-GVV). The same carrier will also transport interested participants to the planet where the competitions will take place. We have several locations to choose from, and depending on the time of day, we will select an appropriate planet. The entire cycle of competitions will happen on the same planet.
The names of the competitions are links that will take you to the description of each one.

Run Charlie, Run!
Run through an active settlement between guards.
Space Biathlon
Run along the perimeter wall of a settlement and shoot at targets.
Shield Boxing
Engage in boxing to deplete the opponent's shield.
Beetle Ball
Two-person team football (pushball) competition.
PWR Raid
PVP Fight to the death in a two-person team battle.

Prizes

Naturally, while the greatest rewards for every athlete are Pride and Glory, the organizers of the Nano Olympics have also prepared a few gifts for you, namely:

Winners of individual competitions will receive:
Space Biathlon
1,5 mld credits
Upgrade and Modification Materials:
Weapon G5** + Scope

Run Charlie, Run!
1,5 mld credits
Upgrade and Modification Materials:
Siut G5** + Improved Battery Capacity

PWR Raid

Additionally, all finalists in the Nano Olympics competitions will receive points for the overall Nano Olympics ranking, which will determine the Most Active Olympian of the 3309 season.
The scoring for each competition will be as follows:
1st Place - 10 points
2nd Place - 8 points
3rd Place - 4 points
4th Place - 2 points
In the case of team competitions, each Olympian in the team will receive an equal number of points.
For the winner of the Most Active Olympian Ranking, we have prepared prizes:
1 mld credits*
Upgrade and Modification Materials:
Suit G4** + Night Vision or Extra Ammo Capacity
or
Broń G4 + Noise Suppressor or Audio Masking

      * Credits for all victories have been sponsored from The Winged Hussars Fund by CMDR Mike Kastilione.
** The term "Suit/Weapon G4/G5" signifies that the prize will consist of materials used to upgrade a Suit or Weapon from G3 to G4 or from G4 to G5.

Rules

Our main rule is to have fun while respecting other participants. Olympians are obligated to follow the instructions of the organizers on-site. Shooting at other participants or engaging in any aggressive behavior is not allowed. Any actions that disrupt the enjoyment of other participants will be dealt with strictly, and individuals may be disqualified from the competition. Excessive testing of the patience of the judges could even result in the disqualification of the entire Squadron from the Olympics.
During competitions held in Odyssey settlements, after landing, we exit the ship using an SRV, after which we send the ship away to allow other participants access. For safety reasons, driving the SRV within the settlement is prohibited. During the competitions, all vehicles must be parked outside the settlement area. Only Organizer vehicles are permitted to remain and move within the area.
An exception applies to parking in the Stack and Klatt Enterprises base areas. There, parking will be possible on the road leading to the ring. This deviation pertains solely to participants in specific events. Other Commanders are prohibited from parking.
The option to replace* one participant with another is allowed in the case of absence due to an unforeseen random incident. If such a substitution takes place during or before the eliminations, the replacing individual must continue their participation in the competition, including the semifinals and finals. It is not possible for a player who was absent during the elimination stage to return for the semifinals or finals (if the substitute managed to advance). On a day when both the semifinals and finals are scheduled, the replacement can occur before or during the semifinals. If the semifinals are completed and contact with a player is lost (e.g., due to a connection failure), the final will be held. However, an exception is possible: upon the request of the concerned player or Squadron, the organizers can set a new final date as soon as possible. Naturally, all other finalists must agree to the rescheduling of the final.
A similar rule applies to teams as well, under which an absent team member can be replaced*.
The time provided by us is always in GMT.
*All listed competitors must be familiar with the rules of the competition. There is no possibility of learning the rules and regulations during the course of the competition.

Anti-Doping Control

In every competition, the temptation of winning can be incredibly strong, sometimes leading to the use of prohibited substances. In this case, they could be modifications or enhancements to equipment. To prevent this, we have decided to ensure equal opportunities for all participants. How will we achieve this? Each player will be required to share their screen on one of the dedicated channels where the competitions will take place. The selection of participants for this process will be random and will be at the discretion of the judges.
Upon a judge's request for a player to share their equipment, we initiate the stream, then return to the game, and only after that, we activate the equipment preview. This procedure must be carried out precisely in this sequence.
For the disciplines: Space Biathlon, PWR Raid, and Shield Boxing, we will display:
   [Obrazek: Cg4V4dJt.jpg]
For the disciplines: Run Charlie, Run! oraz Beetle Ball, we will display:
   [Obrazek: b96mBVlt.jpg]
After receiving confirmation from the judge, we turn off the preview, returning to the standard game view, and only after this step, we turn off the stream.
For the PWR Raid competition, the stream will need to be on at all times. Therefore, we do not recommend this competition to players with weak connections. Detailed rules are provided in the competition description.

Game Mode

We would like to conduct the competitions in Open mode, but there is still a long way to go before this mode works correctly. Additionally, we would need to enhance our security measures against individuals who might arrive solely to disrupt the enjoyment of other participants. matches will be held in Private Mode, which will be provided by one of the Nano Olympics organizers. Details about the appropriate mode will be communicated 24 hours before the competitions, and invitations will be sent to the participants. Upon the request of those who have registered for the Olympics and the Olympians themselves, it's also possible to invite other individuals, such as Fans or Streamers.
The responsibility for invited individuals in this mode lies with the inviting person, ultimately the Squadron.

Communication

Voice communication will take place on The Winged Hussars' Discord server. After clicking the link, please assign yourself a role Commander:
The Winged Hussars Discord Server
Now, you can access the Nano Olympic channels through the link below. Here, please assign yourself a role. Olimpijczyk:
Nano Olimpiada 3309
We've prepared channels on our Discord server especially for you. A text channel: #olympic-talks-pl-eng, and a voice channel: #Olympic Lobby. Both are multilingual. If you have any questions about the Nano Olympics, feel free to ask them on this channel. To get a quick response, it's advisable to use mentions for members of the Olympic committee (the list of Organizers above, in the introduction section).
During the course of the competitions, two voice channels will be utilized for teams: Olympic Event #1 and Olympic Event #2. Generally, the events will take place on a single voice channel dedicated to participants. However, in the case of the PWR Raid competition, both team channels will be used. It's worth emphasizing that all voice channels used during the events are accessible to everyone, although individuals not participating in a specific competition may be asked to move to the main Nano Olympics voice channel.
Of course, there is also the option for communication on the forum in a dedicated thread without the need to register an account.
The organizers of the Nano Olympics 3309 are committed to providing comfort to the participants, while also kindly asking for understanding that the primary language The Winged Hussars, the forum, and Discord is Polish.

Registrations

In our Nano Olympics, there will be the following participation limits for each competition:
16 players
for individual competitions
and
8 teams
for team competitions (each team consisting of two players)

If all the squadrons we've invited accept the invitation, we have 2 slots available for each in individual competitions and 1 slot in team* competitions for each squadron.

Entries for the Nano Olympics should be submitted by individuals who have received invitations from their Squadrons. As mentioned earlier, each Squadron can field a maximum of two competitors in each competition. Additionally, we encourage creating a waiting list, which can be utilized if the number of registrations is lower. Registrations will be carried out through a Google form, the link to which was sent along with the invitation.
The registration process will consist of several stages, so please review the guidelines carefully:

Stage 1 - Registration for Nano Olympics 3309

Until September 10th (12:00 GMT) of the year 3309, please express your interest in participating in the event by filling out the Google form attached to the invitation. After September 10th, squadrons that have expressed interest will receive further information from us.
Until September 17th (12:00 GMT), we will be expecting more detailed information, such as the number of participants in each competition. Based on this information, we will allocate slots to squadrons.
If we receive a smaller number of registrations than expected, any additional slots will be evenly distributed among the squadrons that have expressed interest in participating. Any remaining slots that cannot be evenly divided among the squadrons will be allocated through a random draw. The drawing will be conducted using ChatGPT. The number of participants (or teams) from each squadron for each competition will be announced below, in this thread. Below, in this post, the competitions with tournament brackets will be posted. After drawing all the brackets, the names of the squadrons will appear instead of the Commander names.

Stage 2 - Registration for Competitions

Every Monday before the start of each competition, we expect the completion of the second Google form. In this form, you should provide the Squadron's name and two Commanders who are participating in the first competition. We skip the remaining competitions and submit the registration. In the following week, we reopen the registration and fill out the next competition if the Squadron is participating in it. If we know the lineup for other competitions, we can also fill them out. The list includes more slots than just the two primary ones, so there is an opportunity to add additional Commanders to the reserve list. Please pay attention to the order of adding Commanders to the list, in the event of a lottery, the Commanders listed higher will be taken into consideration first.
At 2:00 PM every Monday before the competitions, the list will be closed, and then the drawing will take place (using ChatGPT). By 8:00 PM, the names of Commanders participating in a given competition will appear in the tournament brackets. During the qualifications, participants will be divided into groups, with an approximate starting time provided for each group. This is to minimize waiting time for each group.
In extraordinary situations, upon the Squadron's request, there is a possibility to extend the registration deadline until Thursday prior to the competition. The drawing procedure will remain unchanged; however, the positions occupied by players representing the Squadron that requested an extension will temporarily remain unoccupied. After the registration submissions, the available slots will be assigned to the registered players through a random draw. In extraordinary situations such as war or natural disasters, upon the Squadron's request, there is a possibility to extend the registration deadline until Thursday prior to the competition. The drawing procedure will remain unchanged; however, the positions occupied by players representing the Squadron that requested an extension will temporarily remain unoccupied. After the registration submissions, the available slots will be assigned to the registered players through a random draw.
In the event of extraordinary circumstances as described above, it is possible to make substitutions*** to the player list before the actual competition. New players will be randomly placed in the available slots.
*For team competitions, we encourage providing team names.
**All listed competitors must be familiar with the rules of the competition. There is no possibility of learning the rules and regulations during the course of the competition.

Schedule

Each of the competitions will take place on one of the weekends of October in the year 3309. Friday and Saturday will be reserved for the qualifiers, while Sunday will be dedicated to the semifinals and finals. There is a possibility that a given competition will be held over the course of two days, depending on the number of Nano Olympiad participants. The events will take place between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM (the hours may vary slightly). The provided time is, of course, server time, and it will be the only time used when providing Olympic announcements.

Locations

For the Nano Olympics, we will be using multiple locations, and all competitions taking place within Odyssey settlements will be situated on planets with atmospheres. This choice aims to provide participants with a maximum dose of excitement and enjoyment from the games.

The competitions Beatle Ball and Shield Boxing will take place in one of the abandoned INRA bases, either at Stack or Klatt Enterprises.
     Stack, HIP 12099 System, Planet 1a, Gravity: 0.10 G.
Klatt Enterprises, Alnath System, Planet A2aa, Gravity: 0.11 G.
Whenever possible, we will strive to select planets where natural light will be available during the competitions. The differences in the gravities of these planets are too minor to influence our decisions. Additionally, the competition area will be illuminated by two SRV Scarab vehicles.

The competitions  PWR Raid and Space Biathlon will take place within the Odyssey settlement. It is a military-type settlement, marked with a "+". Within the settlement, there are two landing pads: small (S) and medium (M). You can also take a look at it in Commander Pitulek's guide; it's the Military Settlement, Type A. Below is the link to the guide and an image of the settlement.
Odyssey for Beginners Part 2 - Odyssey Bases
We have several locations at our disposal, from which we will select the most suitable one for the competitions. The primary criterion for selection will be natural lighting. In most of these places, an Anarchy regime prevails, so there should be no issues with preparing the settlement for the competition. All competitions will take place in the same location, meaning that differences in gravity will not affect the games
  Here are a few locations::

The competition Run Charlie Run! will take place in the Savi system, on Planet A6, within the Casari Falls settlement. The gravity on this planet is 0.46 G. The planet is tidally locked to its sun, resulting in perpetual daylight within the settlement. The settlement has a High security level. The political regime will not influence this competition, and no combat is anticipated within the settlement. Other locations are available for this competition in case of any changes or requirements.

During each weekend of the competitions, all participants will be transported to the designated system aboard the carrier [TWH-DN] Olimp (JNQ-GVV). The launch will occur from the home system of Skrzydłata Husaria HR 8444*. If seating becomes limited, we will have a second reserve carrier prepared for use.
The planned launch will occur every Friday at 16:30. In case of different carrier launch times, information will be provided on Discord, specifically on the official Nano Olympics channel.
*We kindly ask all guests to maintain respectful behavior in the system. Our Combat Wing is responsible for safety and order, and they treat any misconduct very seriously.

The organizers of Nano Olympics Games 3309 wish to extend their best wishes to future Olympians: abundance of success, unforgettable experiences, and the joy of competition, always in the spirit of fair play. We sincerely encourage your participation!

Don't wait for others to do it! Become the Olympic Champion of 3309!!!

We invite you to sign up!!

We wish all Olympians success in their fight for the championship!
